A quick glossary of terms for those new to fast leveling guides!
Power leveling: Leveling a World of Warcraft Character as fast as humanly possible.
Leveling guide: Comes in various forms, but most commonly as a html or pdf file. More advanced guides include map mods, which allow you to follow the guide (complete with directional arrows in some cases!) from inside the game, which means no more time wasting alt-tabbing out of the game.
Map Mod: An addition to the World of Warcraft user interface that allows map coordinates and leveling text to be displayed, as well as directional arrows.
Grinding: Killing monsters over and over again in the same location for experience. Usually only recommended by experts when a few bars of experience are needed to gain the next level, or when only no other efficient questing routes exist.
Questing: Accepting and completing quests. When following expert leveling guides, your questing routes will become super efficient, and your leveling times decrease sharply. The experts will regularly warn you AWAY from some quests, as the time to complete the quest isn’t worth the time you expend.
Twinks: People who are given high level gear to make killing monsters easier, or people who get “towed” through high level areas of the game for fast & easy experience. Finding people willing to give up gold, items, or time can be difficult…
