I never thought I’d be writing this article!

“How to deal with WoW at level 80″?

It sounds plain stupid… but a recent experience with a friend who just dinged 80 made me recall when I first hit 80, and the confusion it can bring for new players.

Just think, how many times have you heard, “the game STARTS at level 80!”, or “I can’t wait to get through the grind to 80″?

Then new players hit 80 and are left without a guide on what to do next, and no explicit guidance on what happens next.

There’s no ! symbol above Mark of Triumph vendors explaining what they are, and what the difference is between them, stone keepers shards, and marks of conquest, for example…

Which is exactly why I wanted to write this article…

Lots of people expect that when they hit level 80, everything will “fall into place”, they’ll become all powerful, and birds will start to sing their names…

In reality, many players are confused and shocked to find that once they reach level 80 they have to deal with some unexpected issues, such as:

1. You’re now a total Newb again.

Its sorta like being in the high school senior then being the freshman in college the next year. You go from the top of the pack at level 79, and then it feels like you’re on the bottom of the heap again when you hit 80… because you quite literally are!

This is especially true for PvP players, or players accustomed to being able to get into any dungeon they want. You now have “invisible barriers” that delay you… and nobody tells you about them.

2. Gearscore. Blizzard hates it, I hate it, you’ll learn to hate it…

Gear score is a mod which calculates how good a persons gear is so that raid and dungeon leaders can work out if they want you or not.

Its sorta like high school all over again. If you aint in the coolest hottest monster bashing gear, then you’re not allowed.

This causes players to ask, if I haven’t got the gear to do this dungeon, how do I get better gear? Much like job applicants who need experience to get a job, new level 80′s need gear to do dungeons, but can’t do the dungeons until their gear is good enough!

This isn’t 100% accurate however, and I’ll talk more about this in just a moment.

2. New 80′s don’t know what to do now.

You’ve just spent 2 or 3 months (or more) leveling a guy to 80… all you know what to do revolves around leveling… and now there’s no more levels to get.

Unless you’re lucky enough to have friends and family to tell you about reputation grinding, achievements, Wintergrasp, dungeon progressions, and so on, more of the “what do I do now” syndrome kicks in.

3. A whole new “hidden” set of levels need to be gained.

New levels? What levels, you ask…? I’m talking again about gear.

If you like PvP, or if you like dungeons, you’ll come to realize that you need to “level up” your gear to take part in the best parts of the game. You’re basically starting at level 1 gear and experienced players who are doing the end game content are in level 60, 70, and 80 gear.

This is more true for players who want to do PvP at 80. You no longer have battlegrounds limited to level 50-60, and instead you’re facing off against players in gear that might have taken them YEARS to put together.

Its like fighting a level 60 when you’re only 30.

So how do new level 80′s tackle these challenges?

What to do at level 80?

Lets look at a few options.

Guilds: First, find a good guild if you haven’t already. Start becoming familiar with guild names of players you see a lot walking around Dalaran, and ensure that you take note.

Maybe you’ll get a group with a guild member who you like. Ask them about their guild, and when you find a good one, join up first and ask questions later!

You can always leave & get a new guild if you find you’re not learning or doing dungeons… remember, if your guild isn’t doing as many dungeons or as much pvp as you want, chances are HIGH there’s another guild out there doing as much, or more than you want to do.

Shop around!

Which brings me to my next point – join guilds that serve your goals.

Do you want to get to end game raids? Join a good raiding guild who intentionally take lower geared members into higher level dungeons explicitly to get them better gear!

Want to join arena teams? Join a PvP guild!

Daily Quests

The next thing you want to do is familiarize yourself with what are called “dailies”.

Go to Violet Hold in Dalaran, and pick up a daily heroic, and a daily dungeon quest from the two quest givers, and do both each and every day if you can.

This will do two things:
1. Get you gold, reputation, and gear upgrades
2. Get you marks of triumph and marks of conquest/stonekeepers shards.

Each of these marks can be turned into faction vendors inside your faction’s building in Dalaran.

Get familiar with those rewards, and be sure to set goals for what items you want to buy as you accumulate marks.

This will give you purpose and drive to get out there and complete those daily dungeons as often as possible.

As a quick example, my Shaman recently changed from elemental to enhancement. So I had to work up my PvP gear all over again. I shopped around, found the items I wanted to buy with my marks of triumph, and started saving hard. These two steps – doing dailies and getting better gear will be your first most important steps once you reach level 80.

While you accomplish those steps you’ll meet new players, new guilds, and learn a ton of different things about how to function as a new level 80 player.

Want More Gold & Gear, and Fast?

Another thing you can try at level 80 is all the dailies you find across Northrend. You can easily make hundreds of gold a day if you know how – which is where I recommend Dave Farrel’s Dailies Guide. Its top stuff & highly recommended reading if you’d like a hand.

After you have completed Utgarde Keep, The Nexus, and Azjol-Nerub, the only other World dungeon left in Northrend is Drak’Tharon Keep.

It’s located in the Grizzly Hills and has everything from Humanoids to the Undead trying to wipe you out.

However, deep within the dungeon you will find the last four bosses Trollgore, Novos the Summoner, King Dred, and The Prophet Tharon’ja.

This is the longest of all the world dungeons and will easily take an hour to around two hours for players to complete. Granted, this assessment is based on each of your party members ranging around levels 74-76. Obviously if you have 5 level 80 players then the time length will be substantially shortened. Whatever the case may be, we’re going to give you a few tips on how to beat each one of the bosses.

Trollgore

If there is a boss that puts out an extreme amount of damage to all members, it has to be Trollgore. He has a good amount of AOE abilities that will not only wipe out the weak trolls that come flying in, but also your party members. A fantastic healer will have to be invited on this trip and be able to keep the tanks alive as they are consumed with various AOEs.

The best way to beat him is if you all spread out, but leave the healer in an area where he or she can heal any party member with the click of a mouse. Also, anyone who has the ability to stun Trollgore or knock him back should do so whenever possible. If you keep this boss off balance, then you should be able to withstand his attacks in Drak’Tharon Keep.

Novos the Summoner

Before you all just run up to fight Novos the Summoner, you should know about the Arcane Field first. This makes casters and ranged shooters obsolete as it protects him from your fire. If a tank or anyone else tries to enter the Arcane Field you will sustain a substantial amount of damage. Instead, focus on the large group of aiders that fly down the stairs to Novos’s aid.

Then of course you will encounter Humanoids and Crystal Handlers that turn this battle into a War. If you continue to simply fight these foes you will wind up running out of supplies because it will go on forever. The objective here is to look for the Handlers and kill them for Novos the Summoner to drop his shield. Once you’ve accomplished this, the fight against the second boss is rather easy.

King Dred

Who ever heard of a Dinosaur looking Devilsaur being able to talk? Well, keep an eye on your chat box if you don’t have the bubbles set up and when you see him speak, get ready for the action. He will come at you with all kinds of abilities like Mangling Slash, Grievous Bite, and Piercing Slash which will cause a large amount of damage. Plus the Bleed effect helps to deal damage when members of your party are infected and getting a healed.

While this battle is part of Drak’Tharon Keep, it has nothing to do with any of your quests except getting in the way. If you are on time constraints and don’t want the drops, then just bypass King Dred by moving around his pen. Then again, if you need the XP you should go for it, but keep an eye out for other nearby enemies who are waiting to join the fight.

The Prophet Tharon’ja

Probably one of the most interesting creatures in the game, the Prophet Tharon’ja will frequently turn your group into Undead skeletons. The first time through it may be a little confusing if you’re used to your own spells and abilities, but if you have to go back it’s easy. Just focus on using the Touch of Life for retrieving health or Slaying Strike which will be your big damage ability.

The Prophet will use a Poison Cloud on your entire group while in an Undead transformation. Your objective here is to utilize the Touch of Life while taking damage away with the Slaying Strike. What it will all come down to is if your tank can hold the aggro so the rest of the team can continue to hit Prophet Tharon’ja. So make sure you have a good amount of DPS between the 5 of you and he will succumb to your fury.

Last World Dungeon

To be honest we had a harder time in Drak’Tharon Keep with Novos the Summoner than taking on Prophet Tharon’ja. If you pay close attention to each of these bosses and figure out their “go-to” moves, you will be able to combat everything and become the World Dungeon Dominator (this is not a tag). Plus, you’ll get some fantastic drops as well!

Nexus!

So, you made your way to the Borean Tundra and found Coldarra where The Nexus is located. Instead of spending hours in this World Dungeon, we’ve put together a few Nexus cheats that every gamer will need. In order to get to The Nexus, Horde players will have to head North from Warsong Hold, while Alliance characters head Northwest from Valiance Keep.

You will find Surristrasz in Amber Ledge, who will give you an FP to Transitus Shield. Once you’ve reached your destination here, start working your way West and just follow the path until you reach Nexus. Oh, and make sure you bring a tank, a healer, and even a Shaman if you can find one. This information wouldn’t be considered Nexus cheats, but it will help you make your way through the dungeon.

Enemies in Nexus

Outside of the World Bosses you will find Humanoids, Elementals, and Dragonkins throughout Nexus. Each of your enemies will revolve around level 71s or 71 Elites. Oddly enough there are a four enemies that are either Alliance or Horde (Berserker, Cleric, Commander, Ranger). These are all Elite enemies, but not the only ones you will find in Nexus.

The Azure group will have Enforcers, Magus, Scale-Binder, and Warders. Our Nexus cheats have more as well like the Chaotic Rifts, Crazed Manas (Wraith and Surge), as well as a whole slew of Crystalline Keepers, Protectors, Frayers, and Tenders. If that isn’t enough there are also Mages and Stewards as well that can give any group quite a fight.

World Bosses

Just like Utgarde Keep, Nexus has a total of four World Bosses (Grand Magus Telestra, Anomalus, Ormorok the Tree Shaper, and Keristrasza). As someone who is looking for Nexus cheats, you will definitely enjoy the upcoming information. Grand Magus Telestra is a strong Mage who spends most of her time throwing your entire group around the room. Even if you take away half her power, she turns into Frost, Fire, and Arcane versions.

She is difficult, but beatable if you freeze or trap the Arcane version first. If you don’t she will be able to cast Time Stop, which could ultimately wipe out your entire unit with multiple shots. We’ll leave the rest up to you, but using these Nexus cheats in the beginning will make the fight a whole lot easier.

Anomalus is the epitome of an Elemental enemy. He draws his power from Chaotic Rifts and not only increases attack power, but also the range in which it can be dealt. Our Nexus cheats also include telling you how to easily defeat Anomalus by simply destroying the Rift. This will alleviate a substantial amount of shielding and melee power, leaving him left with nothing to channel from.

Fighting Ormorok is a little tricky for any spell casters. He has a Spell Reflection ability that can turn the tables on you in an instant. Between this and the Crystal Spikes that shoot across the room, you could be in for a serious fight if you don’t have the right group with you. Any tank can demolish Ormorok if the healer stays alive. Just make sure you don’t get hit early with his Trample or it will be an uphill battle.

When you reach the final boss (Keristrasza), you’ll have to activate all the spheres to release her. The best Nexus cheats we can give you here is that anyone who isn’t a tank needs to stay on the sides of Keristrasza (because of the Tail Sweep). Also, you will need to keep an eye on the Intense Cold spell. If anyone in your party is hit by it, immediately move or start jumping to break the spell. You’re going to have fun with this one and there might be a wipe or two before you are victorious.

Quests

In order to get the quests for Nexus, you must be at least a level 69 for all of them except the “Have They No Shame” quest (level 68). Each of them have their own special tasks, and great rewards for your efforts. Make sure you pick all of them up before entering The Nexus. Now, go get your team together and have some fun in this World Dungeon. We’re sure these Nexus cheats will save you time during battle.

Making your mark on Northrend begins in the Utgarde Keep dungeon. Even though you could find yourself in many other battles before hand, the level 68-72 suggestion with 5 players will most likely contribute to your first full fledged dungeon in the area. It can be found smack dab in the center of Howling Fjord. Need a few tips? Well, we’ve got plenty for you.

Enemies You Encounter

Most of the enemies found within the Utgarde Keep walls are Humanoids associated with the Dragonflayer Army. Outside of the World Bosses deep within the dungeon, all of your enemies will be around level 70 and as high as level 71 Elite. Attached with the Dragonflayer tag, there will be Bonecrushers, Forge Masters, Runecasters, Metalworkers, and many others along the way.

If the various Humanoids weren’t enough, you’ll also find Photo-Drakes, Frenzied Geists, Savage Worgs, Tunneling Ghouls, and Vrykul Skeletons. This being said you will soon realize that all damage types will be covered in this dungeon (Fire, Frost, Nature, Shadow). Plus, if everyone in your group is level 68-72 you can expect a 45 minute fight inside Utgarde Keep.

The World Bosses

Throughout the dungeon you will find four World Bosses (Prince Keleseth, Dalronn the Controller, Skarvald the Constructor, and Ingvar the Plunderer). Each one of them are level 72 Elite characters that have their own special traits for battle. For instance, Prince Keleseth enjoys throwing Shadow Bolts towards his enemies while summoning Vrykul Skeletons for additional help. Then of course his other ability is the Frost Tomb that could freeze any party member.

Dalronn the Controller and Skarvald the Constructor team up to take your group on in the Nidvar Stair. If you found Prince Keleseth difficult, these two will prove to be a much tougher battle. DC is a caster who enjoys using Debilitate to lower everyone’s magical and physical damage. SC on the other hand is their version of a good tank with ridiculous melee abilities.

Tyr’s Terrace will be home to Ingvar the Plunderer who is by far the most difficult of the 4 World Bosses in Utgarde Keep. Since the melee damage will punish your group’s tank, the healer should focus on him or her at all times. Everyone else hopefully brought along enough potions and buffs to finish Ingvar off. If not you will all wipe and have to make your way back through Utgarde Keep.

When you kill him for the first time, he will be resurrected by Annhylde the Caller. However, he comes back as an undead opponent so everything he uses will be based from Shadow damage. Once you finish him off for a second time you can start the celebration because you just conquered Utgarde Keep.

Quests and Reputation Gains

In all there are four quests available for Utgarde Keep (A Score to Settle, Ingvar Must Die, Into Utgarde!, and Disarmament). Each quest offers anywhere from 20,100 XP to 40,200 XP. Each one of them require you to be a level 68 before being able to take on the quests. The rewards are great additions to your equipment if you’re truly taking on Utgarde Keep around the appropriate levels. If you’re sending groups in here at level 80, most of them will have to be sold to vendors instead.

A Helpful Side Note

When playing in Northrend, you must remember that both factions are allowed anywhere. However, when you take on the quests for Utgarde Keep there is only 2 quests for each faction. “Ingvar Must Die!” and “A Score to Settle” are set up for the Horde, while the other two are for Alliance only. Hopefully knowing this and the information above will give you an inside track to beating Utgarde Keep. We believe it will.

If you are getting ready to take on the Azjol Nerub bosses, then you will need a little help.

Each of them are level 74 Elites and anyone who brings a group, should pull together a perfection combination.

Just like most dungeons, you will need a tank while taking on the Azjol Nerub bosses. We actually recommend two of them along with a healer (preferably a Priest), and two people who have AOE talents.

Krik’Thir the Gatewatcher

Right from the get go, Krik’Thir the Gatewatcher is quite annoying. A spider-like menace that starts the battle off with a nice Curse of Fatigue AOE immediately puts its toll on your group. All movement speeds will be reduced if you are bunched up together, so make sure you spread out. The healer and casters should stay as far back as possible, because if you’re hit with this your spells casting times will be slower as well.

This is important when taking on the first of the Azjol Nerub bosses, because soon the Gatewatcher will summon Skittering Infectors and Swarmers. You will definitely need some fast Area of Effect spells being thrown all over them, even though they aren’t Elite status. If you can get your Tank to hold the aggro, then the rest of the clan can take them out easily. Just be aware of the Infectors AOE abilities. When you are left with Krik’Thir, let the tanks do their work and then move through the gate.

Hadronox

We suggest grabbing everything you can to resist Nature damage when it comes to the second version of the Azjol Nerub bosses. Hadronox will be in a closed quarters area, in which you should just have your tanks go in to start. You may have a lot of problems here considering Hadronox can pierce armor and create an Acid Cloud dealing a good amount of damage. Your healers should focus on the tanks during the first portion of the battle.

The worst part about the second Azjol Nerub boss is she can regain health by using her Leech Poison. If you are caught up in the poison you will end up losing 500 health every second it’s attached. Even worse, if you die or anyone in your party gets the axe during its duration, Hadronox gets an additional 10% on top of it. This could mean that the battle will continue for a long amount of time. So bring out all the stops because you’re going to need it.

Anub’Arak

The final edition of the Azjol Nerub bosses is Anub’Arak. Just as you do for Hadronox, make sure everyone in the group is topped off in health and buffs before heading down to fight him. If you spend a long time defeating Hadronox, it won’t even compare to the long duration it takes to defeat Anub’Arak. Your tanks will have to take on the ever so famous Pound ability. Since this is a frontal attack, make sure the rest of the group is either behind or to the side of this Azjol Nerub boss.

Just as you feel like this is going to be a certain victory, Arak will dig itself a big hole and disappear underground. In the meantime many of its companions will come out of no where and attack everyone. Even if you take them all out, this Azjol Nerub boss will summon others to help him. You will see spiders, locusts, and beetles over and over again until he has been defeated. If you have a good tank, this shouldn’t be a problem. Just a long battle.

Stock Up!

We recommend stocking up on healing potions, mana potions, and anything else you may need before heading to Azjol Nerub. Even though this is about all the Azjol Nerub bosses, you will encounter several enemies while traveling through the dungeon. Hopefully there are a couple of you who have high cooking and first aid so the cost for this trip will be a lot less.

Deadly BE Rogue

Deep in the wilderness throughout WoW you will find the stealthy and lethal Rogue society.

A group that is heralded as the most devious in battle, but crippling at the same time. I enjoy a few of the many abilities a Rogue can offer, especially the ability to handicap others in battle with various poisons.

The Uniqueness of a Rogue

Well, beyond on the battle benefits, the Rogue will always be called upon to pick locks. They are the only class that can do it, and if you’re smart you’ll take advantage of the money that can be made by this supply and demand opportunity. Anytime someone gets a Lockbox from a drop, you’ll see a nice request for you in the chat area. It’ll be worth a few gold a piece at least.

Fighting Style

Since your Rogue can have a very high melee damage potential, it’s not surprising that you can deal all kinds of damage. Best of all you can sneak up on your opponent and stun them, take away HP and then use Vanish, Sprint, or Blind. In short they are probably the most resourceful class out there. However, I haven’t even broke out all the details surrounding your newest character.

Unfortunately there are downfalls to every class, and the Rogues aren’t any different. On an armor standpoint you won’t be able to wear anything above Leather. No, there isn’t a trainable Mail Armor area for them either. I would have to say this isn’t close to the worst considering you will have no buffs available at all and you can’t heal yourself without a potion or bandage.

Building a Fast Leveling Rogue

Now that you know all the weaknesses surrounding your new Toon, it’s time to make a build for him or her so you can reach level 80 at a higher rate. The Assassination tree will be full of crit strikes, reduction and gains in energy, as well as increased damage. This is your best bet at building an unbeatable Rogue. 51 points should placed here, and none of them should wind up in the following abilities.

Malice (0/5)
Lethality (0/5)
Improved Poisons (2/5)
Improved Kidney Shot (0/3)
Murder (0/2)
Deadened Nerves (1/3)
Find Weakness (2/3)
Master Poisoner (1/3)

Underneath the Subtlety and Combat talents you’ll have 20 points to play with and give your character a few extras increases. I didn’t want to put too much into the Combat zone because there is more you can do in the Subtlety area. So you will only see one ability addition there.

Combat

Improved Gouge (2/3)

Subtlety

Master of Deception (3/3)
Opportunity (2/2)
Dirty Tricks (2/2)
Camouflage (3/3)
Elusiveness (1/2)
Ghostly Strike (1/1)
Serrated Blades (3/3)
Initiative (1/3)
Improved Ambush (2/2)

Now get out there and start showing everyone how fast you can level to 80.

If you find a better way to level up then by all means do it. The idea here is to help you figure out the best option available, and allow you to learn new things about the World of Warcraft game.

Anyone, and I mean anyone who hasn’t had the chance to play with a Druid should stop reading this and go start a new character.

Druids in my opinion are the most entertaining and complex class of them all. I must admit, it was the Blizzard movie that shows the girl running through the forest and changing into a panther that got me interested.

Even the first few levels of play you will notice the difference in this class and get a feeling for what’s to come. Even though the opportunity to change into several different animals is intriguing, it’s the mass array of having nature at your disposal that makes your Druid one to be reckoned with in the World of Warcraft.

However, you might need a little help along the way so I’m going to throw out some suggestions for you today.

Druid Races and Animal Forms

You will only find 2 races that offer the Druid class. The Night Elf is the only race on the Alliance side and the Tauren for the Horde. Even though you are limited to these two options, the animal transforming definitely makes up for it. You will be able to transform into either a bear or cat, but throughout the game you will gain other transformations as well.

Once you reach level 40, the bear will be replaced by dire bear form. Even though this will be a bummer for some, I think you’ll be happy with the dire bear, not to mention the quest chain that gives you an awesome epic flying form. You can change into your flight form once you reach level 68, and then the epic flight form at level 71 (coming down to 60 and 70 in patch 3.2).

Building Your Druid

Okay, let’s get to the good stuff and help you get a nice build for your Toon.

You will be able to choose between the Balance, Feral Combat, and Restoration trees. While each of them have their own benefits, it’s the Balance talent build that I enjoyed using for leveling. So stick 61 points in this tree and leave out the areas I give you below to maintain the fastest leveling rate.

Genesis (0/5)
Improved Insect Swarm (0/3)
Balance of Power (0/2)
Improved Faerie Fire (0/3)

Hopefully you noticed the 3/3 in Moonglow. This is one of the more “boring” looking talents in the tree, but its essential for mana efficiency and keeping your leveling times up.

Click for WoW Head build

The Moonglow talent also has the benefit of opening up a great set of talents, such as Starfall, Force of Nature, Moonkin Form (owl beast), and one of my other favorites; the Typhoon.

Each of them will be used religiously once you get up to the higher levels (50-80).

This being said, you still have 10 points to play with and I want to help you place them in the appropriate areas.

Improved Mark of the Wild (2/2)
Nature’s Focus (3/3)
Furor (5/5)

These can all be found in the Restoration tree and add some solid usable buffs to your balance druid.

My favorite of these is Furor, and with 5 points here you increase your total intellect in Moonkin form by 10%, great for mana, and great for extra crits.

So start out with this Druid leveling build for now, adding talent points as you go in what ever order you like (though level the resto talents till your 62nd point… and maybe down the line you can respec to learn some new traits that aren’t quite are useful, but not not in a leveling sense.

The day you want to roll a Shaman is the day you’ll start gaining hundreds of friends on World of Warcraft. Well, I guess that depends on how much you like questing with others.

Probably my favorite part about using this is class is the various ways to build the character. Since there are so many options, you won’t ever go wrong.

However, I’m going to show you a way to utilize them all.

Starting with Elemental

If you start the build process with the Elemental tree, you’ll end up enjoying the ride. The golden rule is to place 51 points in any one talent tree and leave yourself with 20 others to play with in the others. The same goes for the Elemental tree, and your goal here is to reduce mana as well as increase damage. Plus you’ll increase the use of your totems as well. Just skip over the short list below.

Concussion (0/5)
Elemental Warding (0/3)
Eye of the Storm (0/3)
Elemental Reach (0/2)
Storm, Earth, and Fire (0/3)

Enhancement Tree

In the example I’m showing you here, you will only need to place 13 points in the Enhancement talents. However, if you decide that this is the area you want to focus on, then make sure you have enough puts to utilize the Feral Spirit ability. Having two under your command will definitely help in tight situations. Just keep in mind they will only last for 45 seconds. Going back to the Elemental focus, use your points wisely in the abilities below.

Enhancing Totems (3/3)
Earth’s Grasp (2/2)
Guardian Totems (2/2)
improved Ghost Wolf (2/2)
Improved Shields (3/3)
Shamanistic Focus (1/1)

The Restoration Talent

Unfortunately at this point you are only left with 7 talents. The best places to put these are the Totemic Focus and Improved Reincarnation. The TF reduces your overall mana on totems by 25% once you fill this ability to the rim. The IR on the otherhand will reduce your Reincarnation cooldown time by a massive amount (20 minutes). Plus, you can regenerate health and mana at a 20% rate.

Totemic Focus (5/5)
Improved Reincarnation (2/2)

Good Shaman Tips to Live By

Even though the totems are a big part of Shaman play, I wouldn’t consider it the only reason to play this class. The ridiculous amount of versatility leaves you feeling like you can play with any other class. My favorite ability to use on opponents has to be the Earth Shock. Anytime a spellcaster comes your way, you can use the Earth Shock to keep them from casting spells. Then just break out the whoopin’ stick with your instant casts. Oh, and if you’re looking for professions, I recommend Enchanting.

[adrotate group="1" banner="3"]

The Warrior is considered to be the tanking artist with large amounts of DPS ability.

If you want to be the player who reverts aggro back to yourself and deals unbelievable amounts of damage, then the Warrior class is right up your alley.

There are many ways to build a Warrior, but my favorite talent tree has to be the Protection area.

Here you will be able to use specific skills that will enhance any Warrior who joins a group or raiding event. Several of the abilities pertain to helping your team with Battle Shouts and Vigilance. Plus you will be able to acquire the Shockwave ability that stuns your opponents and deals over 400+ damage during a 4 second period.

Just keep in mind it will only affect the mobs in front of you that are within 10 yards. So what’s the best Protection build?

Well, you won’t have to worry about any of these abilities.

Shield Specialization (2/5)
Anticipation (0/5)
Improved Revenge (0/2)
Shield Mastery (0/2)
Puncture (0/3)

If you’re worried about the Fury or Arms talents, there are a few you will be able to gather if you set up the Protection build appropriately. I know a few others who would rather place the majority of their points in either one of these areas, but we would all tell you it depends on your style of play.

Do you like to solo? Is there an Instance you’ll be going into today?

Maybe you just mess around in battlegrounds, but the point is you should adjust accordingly. In this case, I’ll set you up with the other two talents.

Arms Talent Tree

Improved Heroic Strike (3/3)
Improved Rend (2/2)
Improved Charge (2/2)

Fury Talent Tree

Armored to the Teeth (3/3)
Booming Voice (2/2)
Improved Demoralizing Shout (5/5)
Improved Cleave (3/3)

Strengths and Weaknesses

Whenever you build a new character, you will soon find all of their strengths and weaknesses during game play. In the Warrior’s case, you won’t have the opportunity to share buffs with your opponents like other classes. Well, maybe one or two but nothing like a Priest. You will also have to load up on health potions in case your healers are amateurs.

However, where there is bad you will also find good. The strengths of the Warrior are why most people enjoy playing with them. You will enjoy the ability to use every kind of weapon out there excluding wands, and can help all your friends by pulling enemies during battle. If that wasn’t enough, you’ll also earn a sick amount of hit points and have tons of fun with your Charge ability.

Leaving You with Something

If there is anything I would share about the Warrior, it has to be the different stances that are available. Each one is unique in it’s own way with special skills that help in certain situations. You will have the choice between a Battle, Defensive, or Berserker stance. They should be used based on your talents and current situations. Last but not least, make sure you train for Herbalism and Alchemy. It will keep your gold costs down in the AH if you’re able to make buffs and potions.
